How to use
How to use
1. In a kadhai, heat 2 tsp oil. Add 1 tsp each of mustard, fenugreek and cumin seeds.
2. Once they splutter, add a pinch of asafoetida, 12–15 shallots, 10–12 curry leaves, and 2 broken red chillies. Sauté.
3. Add 3 chopped tomatoes and cook till soft. Stir in 2.5 tbsp Elai Platter Sambar Powder, 1 tbsp tamarind pulp, and jaggery (optional). Bring to a boil.
4. Add 3 cups boiled toor dal, adjust consistency with water, and bring to a boil again.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh coriander.
6. Optional Traditional Method: Sauté 10–12 shallots in 1 tsp oil. Add 2 tbsp Elai Platter Sambar Powder, turn off the flame, and blend into a paste. Add this paste after the dal instead of adding the powder directly.
7. Tip: Add vegetables of your choice.
